Backyard Jurassic Park
School classes, scouts troupes, friends and family can create their own
versions of Jurassic Park with 3D Choreographer. Here’s how we did it:
- We loaded two T-rexes from the 3D Choreographer library, making one small
and the other large.
- We created an animation with a black background and saved it as an AVI file.
- We video-taped Joshua running through the woods, petting an imaginary dinosaur and turning around in surprise at the big one behind him. The hard part was getting a 3-1/2 year old to pet a dinosaur he couldn't see. We set a stick in the yard to indicate where
the dinosaur would be.
- We captured the video as an AVI file with a video capture card.
- Using an overlay in Adobe Premiere LE to make the black of the animation transparent, we combined the two files into a final AVI file.
