Chapel Hill, NC Animated Communications is proud to introduce 3dChor Kids, a software program which allows students in second grade and up to create complex animations with the click of a button. Site licenses and curricula are available for elementary and middle schools. Animations open up a new way to communicate. Students can use them for story-telling, project illustrations, or dramatic roleplaying.

What sets 3dChor Kids apart is its "Action-Driven" approach. Every actor has an extensive library of predefined actions including a wide range of emotional expressions. For example, a person can dance, wave and smile-personality at the click of a mouse.

Design is a simple 4 step process:

  1. Click on Actor to choose from a library of 90 characters. Actors are defined in all three dimensions.
  2. Click on Command and watch the actor take a bow, do a somersault or raise his right eyebrow. Create a script by selecting the commands for the actor to perform. There are actions for every part of the body.
  3. Click on Path and draw a path for the actor to follow.
  4. Click on Animate to create the final movie.

Replace the head of a bird, a clown or a dinosaur with photos or drawings.

Text, backgrounds and 2D drawings can be added to complete the animations. The final designs are rendered as AVI files.

Use the animations in PowerPoint, place them on web pages, or add them to videos.

3dChor Kids operates under Windows 95 or greater. The educational price is $99. Classroom packs and site licenses are available.
