Tips & Help

Squish, Squash, and Stretch

Flatten an object when it hits a surface, and make the degree of squash dependent on the softness (or hardness) of the object and the speed of the impact. When an object accelerates from slow to fast, (like a falling object) stretch it as it increases in speed and flatten it as it slows up. Experiment with the degree of distortion. Little, or no distortion looks unreal, too much is comical.

Remember that when an object is distorted, its volume remains the same. A flattened object becomes wider, and a thinner object becomes longer.
